Report: Russia’s Detsky Mir may enter markets of India, Armenia

MOSCOW, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest children goods retailer Detsky Mir may enter markets of India and Armenia, Vladimir Yevtushenkov, chairman of the board of directors of Detsky Mir’s core owner Sistema, said in an interview to Rossiya 24 television channel broadcast on Wednesday.

“We are opening our stores in Kazakhstan, and we are studying other markets today, we are looking at the Indian market and whether we are capable of entering it,” he said.

“We are looking at Armenia, looking at a possibility to buy store chains selling children goods in some other countries. I would not like to announce it now, because we are a public company and we would like to announce only decisions that we have already made.”

In Russia, Detsky Mir plans to launch at least 100 stores a year, he added.
